I switched to these recently when I bought some new ACICS Trail Runner Sensor 3 running shoes. In the past I'd used "Superfeet" (which I often foolishly conflate with "Smartfeet"). Superfeet were OK, but even before I'd gone through the heat molding procedure with the SOLEs, I could tell they offered alot more support. On top of that the SOLEs fit better in the ASICS. No trimming was required to get a good fit in my 9.5 's.
Just pop the SOLEs in the oven at 200 degrees F for a couple of minutes, pop them in your shoes, and lace up. In a couple of minutes the SOLES are molded to your foot, and the result for me was excellent arch support. I've logged about 150 miles on them so far, and they rank high for comfort and support.
I would definitely recommend these over the Superfeet since the arch support is more aggressive...
