This lotion works great. My hands tend to get very dry during the winter months and nothing has worked as well for me. The principle on which Amlactin works is a bit different from other lotions. Specifically the product is based off of 12% lactic acid which is neutralized by ammonium hydroxide to create a naturally occurring humectant in the skin. This principle has proved very effective for me. Other things I like about this lotion include the fact that is completely non-greasy and absorbs into the skin so you don't walk around for five minutes afraid to touch things.
The two downsides to the product are first that the product is unscented so that may not appeal to some. Second it does not have the nice scent of other naturally derived lotions. I like the fact that the product is unscented. The other thing I have noticed is that if your skin has any sort of scratch or wound this product may cause a slight sting.
But the upside of this product is that it works extremely well as a moisturizer and is non-greasy. If the basic lotions like Kerri and Vaseline have not been effective, give Amlactin a try.
I purchased the product at Costco, while I have not really looked, Costco is the only place I have seen the product.
