It would be hard to create a less reliable refrigerator than the LRDC22731TT, also known as the LRDC22731SW. If there was one piece of advice I would give anyone buying a major appliance, it would be to NEVER buy LG! I mean never ever, no matter what. Other brands may look a little plain, but they work. LG is completely unreliable garbage. Let me tell you the story of my horrid refrigerator...

Upon delivery, various trays and baskets were broken and they had to send new ones. This took around 2 months.

From the day I bought it ice accumulated in the freezer compartment. In fact it was so bad I thought I had accidentally bought a freezer without automatic defrost. Eventually the fan that moves cold air to the refrigerator ceased functioning. After waiting 3 months for a new part, (part number 6871JB1213B) LG installed the new evaporator fan under warranty.

The part failed again in 2005 and was replaced at my expense. No amount of pleading would get them to take care of this.

Then I had to replace the ice maker a little while later. Again at my expense. Oh, and it took around 2 months to get the part.

Then more things started failing and parts 5219JJ2002A, 5219JJ2002B, and 5219JA3003A was replaced in addition to my favorite part, the evaporator fan. (Part number 6871JB1213B). Again at my expense.

I repeatedly called LG complaining about the lack of quality of this refrigerator. They said they couldn't do anything since it was out of warranty. They didn't care that it never worked properly.

I have one piece of advice for ANYONE thinking about buying a new refrigerator. No matter how nicely the box fits your space, no matter how much you like the way the inside is laid out, NEVER EVER BUY AN LG!!

LG service is horrid: Parts take no less than a month to arrive and sometimes 3 months, most of the time you have to pay for install and the new part. You get the privilege to repeat this exercise every 9 months or so.
