I first heard a track from Romanza by Andrea Bochelli in a doctors office. It was playing on a boom box. The emotion in his voice was evident even on this small sound system. I thought this would be great to listen to with a better system and went out to get the CD.
Was I disappointed! The recording quality was awful. It's so bad that I couldn't stand to listen to it. Frankly I don't know of any other CD that is *that* bad. I've since heard it on other poor speakers and it sounds really good, for those speakers. I find it completely frustrating that the rest of the details and loss of distortion are not lost to the poor speakers, but are in fact just part of the recording. I can't believe the record company would release it.
I would strongly recommend borrowing a copy of this CD before purchasing it and playing it on the system you intend to use for listening. You will either be pleasantly surprised, or will turn it off quickly.
