I've run with ASCIS forever, and finally switched to "official" trail running shoes, since I've pretty much given up running on paved (or worse, concrete) surfaces. These shoes are very comfortable, and quite grippy on wet trails (kind of the norm in Portland). I'm a pretty bad pronator, so I have to stick with motion control shoes. These have been great so far - no shin splints, no plantar, and thus pretty much pain free.
It's kind of early to review them since I've only run them for a month (running about 35 miles a week), but so far they're great. I did add some off the shelf footbeds (the SOLE softec moldable ones) since I like a little extra arch support, and I find them exceptionally comfortable.
